The Department of Business Administration organized a one day workshop on “PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE DEVELOPMENT” for II and III year BBA students on 22 August 2019. Dr Preethi Keerthi D’Souza, Assistant Professor, Mangalore University, Konaje was the chief guest and resource person. Sr Dr M. Jeswina A.C, Principal, St Agnes College (Autonomous) presided over the programme and Sr M. Carmel Rita A.C the Administrator of the college was the guest of honour.

The workshop began with an inaugural program by lighting the lamp. Dr Preethi Keerthi D Souza in her inaugural speech spoke on the five important aspects i.e Human relations, knowledge, attitude, skills and communication. Sr Dr M.Jeswina A.C Principal enlightened the students on the importance of various skills that are necessary for employment. Mrs Sabina D Souza, HOD of BBA Department welcomed the gathering and Mrs Chethana K.M delivered the vote of thanks and Ms Mirfath of III BBA compeered the programme.

In the first session Dr Preethi Keerthi D Souza explained the importance of Life skills, Traits and SWOC Analysis. She said that students need to prioritize the people they love instead of gadgets. She also spoke on thinking based Perspective, ‘Performance Character’, Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation and different values students need to inculcate. She also conducted various activities to show the importance of team work.

The second session was by Mr Clinton Lobo, motivational speaker and Entrepreneur. He emphasized on Corporate Etiquettes, how not to give presentation using Microsoft Power point, Public speaking, preparation for an interview and Group Discussion. Further, he spoke on how to understand people in an organization and to use positive relationships to achieve your goals. He also gave a few tips to be followed in an organization as an employee. Both the session were informative and fruitful for the students as it involved practical session through activities and everyone thoroughly participated in these sessions. At the end Ms Krishnendu, student vice president of BBA delivered the vote of thanks.
