The first session included a lecture by Mr G. K. Bhat which focused on the various industries where BDA has employability opportunities. He also added that more than 100 industries are set up in Dakshina Kannada of which a large percentage were IT based. The students interacted well to gain insight into internship and employability opportunities. The second session included a written test which included questions based on data analytics, Java and Python programming, DBMS, Hadoop, Spark and Artificial Intelligence. This also enabled the students to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The workshop concluded with Mr G.K. Bhat sharing the summary of the strengths and opportunities for improving on the weaknesses. One of the methods suggested was for students to do a course on full stack development tools and techniques. A total of 75 students attended the first session and 33 students attended the second session. The workshop concluded with Ms Deepthi M. Varghese, Assistant. Professor, Department of BDA proposing the vote of thanks.
A one day workshop titled “Internship Readiness” was held on 27 January 2022 at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru. The resource persons for the workshop were Mr G.K. Bhat, CEO of Kakunje Software limited Mangalore and Mrs Aparna Bhat, Managing Director. The audience for the workshop included the M.Sc. students of Big Data Analytics and final year students of B.Sc. and BCA. The focus was to provide inputs on the current trends in Industry.
