The resource person for the webinar was Dr Manasi Goswami, Professor, Department of Physics, Regional institute of education (NCERT) Bhuwaneshwar Odisha. She is a popular science writer and has received National award for her outstanding efforts in Science and Technology Communication by DST, Government of India, for the year 2019.
The session started with opening remarks and welcome by Mrs Marina Lobo, HOD and Associate Professor, Department of Physics who was also the convener of the program.
Dr Manasi Goswami in her presentation, explained about both fission and fusion reactors and the nuclear reactions that are associated with the working of these reactors. She also spoke about the importance of nuclear fusion and nuclear waste. It was an informative session which was an enlightening one for the audience. There was a question answer session at the end of the webinar.
The session concluded with the vote of thanks by Sr Evet Priya Machado, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics.
The webinar was attended by faculty and around 100 students.
