The Faculty Induction Programme was organized on 30th May 2019 for the members of the faculty who were newly appointed and who had completed up to 5 years of Teaching in the college. The programme commenced with a prayer. Sr Dr Venissa A.C, Vice principal welcomed the gathering. The first session began with an icebreaker followed by a session on Motivation by Dr Malini Hebbar, Associate Professor, Department of English, and St. Agnes College. The second session on AC Education – Pursuit of Excellence was conducted by Sr Pearl Ann A.C. Member of the Apostolic Carmel Spirituality Centre, Maryhill. She gave a deeper insight into the qualities of a Carmel Teacher. She encouraged the new faculty to be role models to our students. Mother Veronica was placed before us as a model to imitate and practice her virtues in our life and pass it on to our students.
The afternoon session began with a brief insertion on duties and responsibilities of faculty members, followed by a session on Teacher ethics, accountability and interpersonal relationships by Prof. Elsie Tharien, Professor of Psychology. She spoke on four C’s – Commitment, Competence, Credibility and Cordiality as the essential components of an effective teacher. The orientation programme facilitated interactions and the faculty were immensely enthused to enhance their teaching process in St Agnes College.

The second day of the orientation program started with a prayer. The newly appointed staff along with the faculty who had less than 5 years of teaching experience in the college gathered in A4 at 9.00 am. The session on the “Class Pedagogy Preparation” was conducted by Sr Dr Maria Roopa. The faculties were then divided into their respective streams and the orientation program was conducted by Mrs Shanthi Nazareth for Arts, Mrs. Shubharekha for Science and BCA streams and Dr Nancy for B.Com and BBA streams.
The second session was on the Demo classes on “Human Values and Ethics by teachers”. This session was conducted by Dr Hithakshi and Ms Harshini, and Mrs Emima was the moderator for the session. The session concluded with the interaction and discussion session by the faculties.
