On Tuesday 6th June 2022, Human Rights Cell of St.Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organised a talk on women’s safety and welfare.

Mr. Maxwell Pereira, Former Joint Police Commissioner, Delhi proceeded over the programme as the chief guest of the day.

He was accompanied by the college Principal Sr Dr Venissa A.C., Alumna of St Agnes College Mrs Marjery and Coordinator of the session Ms Harsha from Department of Economics.

The enthusiastic crowd and guests were welcomed by the student Vice President of Arts Ms Jessica D’Souza. On this occasion, Mr Maxwell spoke about Women’s safety and welfare, he spoke about how women are leading in IAS exams “Don’t take anyone as an inspiration, you be the inspiration to the other. Have some goal and try to achieve it on your own and lead your own life” He stressed on how individuals must have knowledge on traffic rules as it is the first step towards safety. Educating on women’s safety measures and Certain concerns on women’s safety, gender sensitization and police services.

He also encouraged the students to crack the UPSC exams and be the part of growing India.
