An orientation programme was conducted for the newly elected college cabinet members of the academic year 2024-2025 on July 19 and 20.
Mr Neville Rodrigues, Personal Development Mentor and R&D Specialist, led a session titled “Invoking Your Core: Born to Lead,” where he emphasized essential leadership qualities such as empathy, accountability, and language fluency. Using realistic examples, he highlighted the importance of leading oneself before leading others. The session was interactive, featuring engaging activities.
Dr Kavyashree K B, Dean and Associate Professor of Psychology at the PG Centre for Research, St Agnes College, conducted a session on mastering conflict management for student leaders. Her session explored collaborative problem-solving techniques and aimed to equip student leaders with effective strategies for managing conflicts within the cabinet and the student body.
Mr. Gerard D’Souza, a renowned soft skills expert, presented on the topic “Reinvent Yourself.”
Sr Dr Venissa AC, the principal provided an overview of the role played by leaders. Thirty four members of the student council, both PG and UG, attended the sessions over the two days.
Mrs. Malavika Shetty, HOD of Computer applications and student council coordinator, were also present during this session.
