The objective of the visit was to know holistic approach to disease and lifestyle management and to explore the various treatments offered, understand the principles underlying naturopathy. Dr Bindu Residencial Medical Officer took a session on ‘Integrated approach of Yoga and naturopathy in Psychology” and brief history of SDM Naturopathy. One of the PG students showed the students various treatment such as mud therapy, hydrotherapy, fasting therapy, yoga therapy, diet therapy and acupuncture and foot reflexology and also explained the indications and contraindications of the treatment. Some of the students also engaged in acupuncture treatment under the guidance of the PG student. The treatments provided are based on the concept of five element such as space, air, fire, water and earth.
Followed by visited the research centre, had a discussion with the counselor about role of psychologist in holistic treatment of patients.
The visit provided valuable insights into the principles and practices of naturopathic medicine.
