The department conducted a guest lecture on “Origami”- Origami, on 20/03/2025 which comes from Japan, involves creating beautiful shapes from a single sheet of paper without using scissors or glue by the resource person Dr.Adelaide Saldanha , the former head of the Department of Mathematics.
Dr. Addy showed how origami can be both simple, like folding cranes, and more complex, like geometric shapes. The session also highlighted how origami is used in fields like engineering and space science. It was a fun and creative way to improve focus and problem-solving skills while learning a new art form.
