Some of the alumni shared their college memories as well as their experiences in the outside world after stepping out of the college. Mr Joel Quadros, Chemical Engineer, Corodex, Dubai from the first batch who passed out in the year 2012, presently working as a chemical engineer in Dubai was the first one to share the experience. He spoke about the challenges as well as learning they had as students being from the first batch. He acknowledged that it is because of the great support extended by the college they were able to do well. He also appreciated Dr Geetha Mable Pinto who had been the H.O.D. from the inception of M.Sc. Chemistry in the college until this year, for being a mother, teacher and back bone of all the initiatives of the students. He is also overwhelmed by the fact that the college keeps in contact with all the alumni. At the end he assured his support and assistance to the students who desire to work in Dubai after the completion of MSc.
Thereafter a few others from different batches also shared their memories. All of them acknowledged that what they are today is because of the support and encouragement of the staff as well as the opportunities they received in the college. They thanked the college for building leadership qualities in them. The regular updating of the alumni by the staff about various job vacancies was well appreciated by some of them. They then reminded the junior students not to waste precious moments in the college rather utilize all the opportunities, explore new ways and learn from every experience.
Dr.Geeta Mable Pinto, in her address thanked Mr Joel for assuring his support and help to the students, appreciated the present students for taking all the efforts to put up the day’s program and thanked all the alumni present for responding to the invitation.
To make this gathering more enjoyable and memorable a few games were conducted where they all participated enthusiastically and the winners were given prizes. A few cultural items put up by the first year and final year students added colour to the program. At the end all of them were eager to jot down their memories on a special board prepared by the students.
The meet was concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Ms Prithvi.
