The Department of Economics, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organised a ‘one day training programme on banking exams’ for the students of the College. It was held on 14 August 2023 at the conference hall from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The Chief Guest of the session was Dr Sharan Kumar Shetty, Associate Professor MBA (finance). The event was also graced by Mr K Govind Bhat, Guest of Honour and Sr Dr M Venissa A.C., the Principal. The event began with invoking God’s presence followed by lighting of lamp by the dignitaries on the dais. Welcome address and introduction of the programme was presented by Dr Manjushree Shetty, Head, Department of Economics. The chief guest addressed the gathering on the benefits of this program and congratulated the department of economics for taking the initiative of conducting such an event. The Guest of Honour Mr K Govind Bhat highlighted the scope of job opportunities in the banking sector. Sr Dr M Venissa A.C., the Principal appreciated the efforts of the Department of Economics for conducting an informative session and advised the students to make the best use of the session. Mrs Mahitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics delivered the vote of thanks.
First Session scheduled from 10:15 am to 11:45 am was conducted by Dr Sharan Kumar Shetty, Associate Professor MBA (finance), Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management. He started with the discussion on various banking exams and their pattern. It was followed by solving some previous year questions. It was an interactive session and he asked the students questions and kept them engaged. Dr Sharan shared various tips to follow while attempting the exam and highlighted the importance of practice. The session was informative and was thoroughly enjoyed by the student.
Second Session was held by Mr K Govind Bhat, Banking Skills Development Consultant. He shared the strategy one should follow while preparing for banking exams. He stated the importance of soft skills and constant perseverance in life. Mr Bhat mentioned the need of being hardworking and diligent while preparing for such exams. Overall the session was informative and entertaining. Students gave positive feedback and said they learnt valuable information.
