The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangalore, organized “NCC: Celebrating the Journey” on 5th April 2025. The event aimed to reflect on the achievements and milestones of the academic year and honour the efforts of dedicated cadets. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Lt. Col. Gracian Sequeira, Commanding Officer of 18 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Mangalore. The programme began with a prayer led by SW cadets. Cadet Elcita Rodrigues formally welcomed the dignitaries. The programme was inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp. The Chief Guest was felicitated for his commendable journey in NCC and for his service and support rendered throughout his tenure. Captain Gayathri B K, ANO of the Army wing, introduced and read the felicitation note of the chief guest, Lt. Col. Gracian Sequeira. He then shared his journey in defence and encouraged cadets to maintain a positive attitude in life. He also added that, by being dedicated and focussed, one can achieve the goal successfully. Principal Sr Dr M Venissa A.C. addressed the gathering, highlighting how NCC is a powerful platform for inculcating discipline, building leadership qualities and personality development which in turn helps in becoming a capable citizen. CQMS Lipishree NCC Secretary presented a detailed Annual Report outlining the year’s activities, training and participation. Flying Officer Dr Hithakshi B, ANO of Air wing, read out the list of cadet achievers, who had excelled in various camps, rendered services and those who had participated and won in different competitions. Token of appreciation was handed over to the achievers by the Chief Guest. After the formal programme cadets performed a dance drama which conveyed a beautiful message. The event concluded by expressing words of gratitude by Cadet Lekhashree, followed by the NCC song, and the National Anthem. The programme induced a spark of proud and patriotic momentum, leaving the cadets to remain motivated and to continue their journey with dedication and honour.
