National Webinar on Personal Investment Management: Post Covid was organized by Department of Commerce, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru on 6 June 2020 through Google Meet. The National Webinar was organized for all the students, faculty, Professionals and other i.e. employees working in different fields, Entrepreneurs etc. 250 Participants across the world had registered for the national Webinar and were present for the session.
Mr Yvonil D’Souza, Investment Services & Trainer was the resource person. Mrs. Anitha S., Assistant Professor of Commerce welcomed and introduced the Speaker to the participants. Mr Yvonil D’Souza stressed on the relevance of making investment decisions based on the information available as well as how to use the information to make right decisions. He also explained the impact of inflation on investments over the long run. He suggested to save at least 40% of the income earned. He also explained the various asset classes available for investment and the increase in the performance of stock market and Gold from 1979 – 2020. He suggested the prospective investors should categorise the funds into Emergency Fund, Retirement Fund and General Investment Fund. He also explained that insurance is for protection of risk and Investment for generation of wealth and also explained the relevance of Mutual Funds as an Investment Avenue. He concluded the webinar by suggesting to the participants that the best asset for investment is to be selected on the basis of the objective of investment that an investor has determined. The Webinar ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs Vineetha N. T., Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.
