The PG Department of Chemistry, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru in association with Chem Aura organized an exciting quiz competition “Chemistry Trivia” on 2 August 2024 celebrating the National Chemistry Day. The event aimed to promote interest and awareness in chemistry among students and to celebrate the contributions of chemistry to society on the National chemistry day.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation of students from the Postgraduate Department of Chemistry. The event commenced with a welcome address by Sulochana, second year M.Sc. Chemistry Student. The quiz competition was structured into several rounds, focusing specifically on chemistry-related topics.
The event was honored by the presence of Dr Geetha Pinto, Associate Professor, Sr Gloria DSouza A.C., Assistant Professor and Dr Amrutha K, Assistant Professor from the PG Department of Chemistry.
The competition concluded with an award ceremony where the top scoring teams were recognized and awarded prizes for their knowledge. The winners were:
First place: Nandana K, Abhinasree
Second place: Chandan, Ankitha
Third place: Sreshta, Irin Sunny
The National Chemistry Day quiz competition was a great success, achieving its goal of fostering a deeper appreciation for chemistry among students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashika, second year M.Sc. Chemistry Student who expressed gratitude to the participants, organizers, and everyone who contributed to making the event memorable. The organizing committee looks forward to continuing this tradition and inspiring future generations of chemists.
