On 1 June 2023, the Mangalore City Corporation, in collaboration with St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a five-day event titled “Meri Life Mera Swacch Sheher.” The primary objective of the event was to promote the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (RRR) within the community. The event aimed to collect and recycle various items such as clothes, books, newspapers, e-waste, and more, which would then be handed over to the Mangalore City Corporation for appropriate disposal or repurposing.

The primary goal of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of reducing waste, reusing items, and recycling materials for a cleaner and healthier environment.

The event kickstarted with a widespread collection drive. Volunteers were stationed at various collection points within the college premises, encouraging students, faculty, and staff to donate their unwanted or unused items such as clothes, books, newspapers, and e-waste.

Once the donated items were collected, they were meticulously segregated and categorised based on their type. This step ensured that the items could be appropriately recycled or reused.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, staff, and the local community. The collaborative efforts of everyone involved contributed to the success of the initiative and in return they were also given certificate of appreciation/participation as well as manure, note books , pencil and other such eco friendly items.
