On the occasion of Deepavali, the Department of Botany, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized, biodegradable Lantern Making Competition for all the students of St. Agnes College on 4 November 2021. 22 students from different streams participated in the event. Participants were instructed on not using plastics, only biodegradable materials were allowed. The lanterns prepared by the students were displayed outside the Department of Botany for the general public to view.
