Keeping in view the World Breastfeeding week, the Department of Microbiology in collaboration with Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North, organized a guest lecture , St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru on the topic – Breastfeeding Awareness on Thursday, 3 August 2023 in Conference hall, Sophia block. The resource person for the session was Mrs. Mitra Prabhu, Dietician and Nutritionist, Zulekha College of Nursing, Mangalore. The session was attended by Ms Geetha Rai, President, Dr Bharathi Prakash, Secretary, Ms Aruna Jalan, ISO, Inner Wheel Club of Mangalore North, Mrs Prajwal Rao, HOD, Department of Microbiology and BSc degree students. Mrs. Mitra Prabhu enlightened the audience on the importance of a well-balanced diet, components of mothers milk and the value of mothers milk in the development of immunity in children. She also highlighted the problems related to breastfeeding in working women.
