This graduation day was a culmination of the academic success of three batches of students who passed out from the year 2018-2021.
Speaking on the occasion, Mangalore University vice-chancellor Dr P. S. Yadapadithaya said, “Students need to build confidence in ‘I can’ and ‘I will’ to achieve goals. Learning is a continuous process consisting of improvement and development. Students need to unleash their potential to the maximum. Getting a degree is just a certificate but it does not claim you to be competent. I congratulate all the graduates.”
In her presidential address, Provincial Superior of Apostolic Carmel Karnataka province – Sr Maria Shamita A.C. said, “Students have a mission in life to fulfil. Achieve great success with deeds of kindness and thoughtfulness to others. The journey has enriched you academically, personally, and culturally with wealth of knowledge that increases potential and responsibility.”
Sr Dr Lydia A.C., the Joint Secretary of St Agnes College, was also present.
The graduation day was attended by the members of the governing body and academic council of the college under autonomy.
Charles Pais, registrar (Evaluation) presented certificates of 2180 graduates of which 365 were post-graduates and 1815 were undergraduates, to the President of the function – Sr Maria Shamita.
Dr Sr M Venissa A.C., Principal of the college administered the oath to the fresh graduates.
Dr Ita D’Souza, IQAC co-ordinator of the college, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Shubha Rekha, dean administration announced the names of the 53 rank holders and they were felicitated and awarded with rank certificates and cash prizes.
Shanti Nazareth, dean, faculty of Arts; Helen Serrao, dean, faculty of Science; and Nimita, dean, faculty of Commerce and Management, announced the names of the graduates from their respective faculties.
Dolan Banerjee, assistant professor, Commerce (PG), proposed the vote of thanks. Malavika Adyanthaya, HOD of BCA compered the programme. Shubharekha, dean, administration was the convenor of the programme.
