Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, Department of Business Administration (MBA), St. Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized a guest lecture for its First and Second MBA students on the topic: ‘From Classroom to Career: The Life altering power of an MBA’. The speaker was a distinguished entrepreneur and CEO of Crystal Electronics, Mangaluru.

The talk by Mr. Rohit Rao was truly engaging. He took a storytelling approach to deliver a powerful message—living life to the fullest while striving for professional success.

The story of building a successful commercial refrigeration company and the hardships endured along the way was deeply inspiring. It was the real-life journey of Mr. K.S. Rao, the speaker’s father—a visionary and a disciplinarian—who not only built a thriving business but also instilled in his children the nuances of enterprise by immersing them in hands-on work. This reinforced the importance of human relationships and the dignity of labor in business—an insightful take on what modern-day Human Resources truly represents.

Through an interactive example drawn from the audience, he vividly demonstrated the role of operations research in everyday life. When a student shared a long-drive experience, he skillfully connected it to the power of application-based learning, emphasizing how real-life experiences serve as the best teachers of lifelong lessons.

One of the most captivating parts of his talk was his experience in Seoul during a week-long official trip sponsored by LG. As a dealer of LG products in Mangalore, this opportunity gave him firsthand exposure to Korean business culture. He offered the audience a fascinating glimpse into their disciplined work ethic, relentless commitment to excellence, and deep sense of patriotism, making it both an insightful and entertaining account.

Through his shared stories, he highlighted the importance of confidence, effective communication, discipline, adaptability, continuous learning, and an unwavering work ethic. Most importantly, he encouraged students to embrace life fully and step into their careers with intelligence and enthusiasm.
