An educational visit was organized by the Psychology Department of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru for the students studying psychology, to the enchanting locale of Madikeri, Karnataka on 26 March 2024. This excursion, organized as part of their studies in Human Resource Management, aimed to provide students with practical insights beyond the confines of traditional classroom learning and academia.

The visit commenced with a comprehensive tour of Sumukh Ice Cream Factory, Kushalnagar. Students gained insights into the intricacies of ice cream manufacturing witnessing the entire process firsthand. They indulged in a delightful tasting session, sampling various flavors. The highlight was stepping into the cold storage room, set at an astonishing -33°C, where they observed the meticulous preservation of ice creams.

Subsequently, the group visited the renowned Golden Temple in Madikeri. The serene ambiance and magnificent architecture provided a spiritually enriching experience, adding depth to their educational journey.

At Nisarga Dhama, students immersed themselves in the natural beauty of the surroundings. Bird watching sessions allowed them to appreciate the biodiversity of the region, while zip-lining activities promoted teamwork and adventure, enhancing their experiential learning with fun.

The final leg of the excursion led the students to Raja Seat, a scenic garden offering panoramic views of lush landscapes. Amidst vibrant blooms, students found moments of tranquility, capturing the essence of nature’s bounty.

The educational visit to Madikeri proved to be a transformative experience for the psychology students of St Agnes College. Beyond the classroom they gained valuable insights into ice cream production, spirituality, and environmental appreciation. The trip served as a catalyst for holistic development, complementing their studies in Human Resource Management.
