The Department of Secretarial Practice organised an Educational Trip to Madikeri on 22 January 2025. The journey began at 6.00 am from St Agnes College in a private hired bus with 55 of the students along with two faculty of the college.

The first place visited was Coorg Jungle Mist Estate which covered with lush green coffee plantation and also pepper creepers surrounded to areca nut trees. The person In-charge explained that there are two types of coffee, Arabic and Robusta. And in Madikeri most of the coffee plants are of Robusta, because of its stronger and harsher taste. He explained the process of harvesting the cherries how they are de-pulped, washed and later dried either by drying machines or just by sun-drying and finally graded and sorted.

The next place visited was Kaveri Nisargadhama where most of the shopping was done by the students. After having the food, Golden Temple was visited, where students marveled to see the wonderful architecture, wall paintings, and many beautiful buildings with many art and craft which belongs to the Buddhist community. Students relaxed there for some time. Then proceed to Harangi Dam and the nearby garden.

Towards the end of the trip, students visited Raja Seat. This is an elegant flower garden having more than 200 types of flower plants. From there headed back to Mangalore at 6.15 pm having experienced the nature and its beauty which remained a wonderful experience for the students to remember and cherish
