To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, the Department of Business Administration, St. Agnes College (Autonomous), organized an educational tour for III BBA students from February 15 to February 18, 2025.

The journey commenced on February 15 from the college premises, with students traveling overnight to Ooty, where they arrived on February 16. Upon reaching, they checked into their accommodation, freshened up, and had breakfast before embarking on their exploration of Ooty.

The first stop was Ooty Lake, where students enjoyed the tranquil surroundings and recreational activities. This was followed by a visit to the Thread Garden, an extraordinary exhibit of handcrafted flowers, plants, and landscapes made entirely from embroidery thread—crafted without the use of needles or machines. Post lunch, the group proceeded towards the Karnataka Siri Horticulture Garden, where they admired the lush greenery, vibrant floral displays, and beautifully maintained landscapes. The day concluded with a lively campfire night at the hotel, followed by a delightful dinner, creating a perfect ending to an eventful day.

On the second day, the group visited Doddabetta, the highest peak in the Nilgiris, offering breathtaking panoramic views. This was followed by an insightful tour of a tea factory and a chocolate factory, where students learned about the production processes of two of Ooty’s most iconic products. Next, they explored the Pine Forest, a picturesque location with towering pine trees, ideal for photography and nature appreciation. The day continued with a visit to Wenlock Shooting Point, a scenic spot known for its stunning landscapes, often featured in Indian cinema.

The visit provided students with a deeper appreciation for history, nature, and sustainable tourism. Organized in collaboration with Travas India Holidays, this educational trip offered valuable learning experiences beyond the classroom, combining industrial exposure, cultural heritage, and scenic beauty.

A total of 44 students participated in this enriching journey, accompanied by Mrs. K. M. Chethana and Mr. Meslon D’Souza, Assistant Professors from the Department of Business Administration.
