On 23 September 2023, an inspiring event known as “Dramatizers” unfolded in the A4 Avila block at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru. Organized by the Department of Psychology, this event had a noble purpose at its core: raising awareness about mental health. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students who performed captivating dramas centered around various psychological disorders, including antisocial personality disorder, sleeping disorders, schizophrenia, and Alzheimer’s disease.

The primary goal of “Dramatizers” was to use the power of theater to shed light on the often stigmatized and misunderstood realm of mental health. By addressing these challenging topics through dramatic performances, the organizers aimed to educate, inform, and destigmatize mental health issues among the audience.

The event commenced with a warm floral welcome to the judges by Mrs. Vinatha, Head of the Department of Psychology, and Dr. Hitakshi, Assistant Professor in the same department.

The heart of “Dramatizers” was the participants themselves, who passionately delved into their roles and portrayed psychological disorders with empathy and authenticity.
