The Chem Aura Association, Department of Chemistry, Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru celebrated ‘International women’s Day’ with the theme “WOMEN IN SCIENCE” on 08 March 2023. It was conducted for the students within the department. The five Chem Aura groups participated in the presentation. The MC for the programme was Ms Deekshitha Dsouza from second year M.Sc. Chemistry. It was followed by a prayer song led by Sr Tomsy and Ms Punya which was followed by the welcoming of the gathering by Ms Rifa of first year M.Sc. Chemistry. Ms Navneetha, Chem Aura Secretary from second year M.Sc. Chemistry gave the plan for the even semester of the academic year 2022-2023.The interesting section of the day was the presentation made by the 5 groups. Each group gave a presentation about a women scientist – her life and achievements. Some groups came up with new ideas to introduce their chosen scientist in the form of PowerPoint presentation along with the videos. A video was also presented which showed the happiness created on the female teaching and non-teaching staffs of the college by giving them a women’s day card with a beautiful quote. The programme ended by vote of thanks given by Ms Sinchana of second year M.Sc. Chemistry.
