St Agnes College, here, one of the leading women’s colleges completes 100 years of education and service in the year 2020-21. As part of its on-going centenary celebration which was launched in January this year, the alumni organized a ‘Centenary Fiesta’ on December 15 and 16 2019.

The fiesta was held at the college campus and witnessed a huge crowd comprising alumni, students, staff, parents and well-wishers.

The programme began with an invocation by the college students after which the Principal, Sr Dr M Jeswina AC declared the Fiesta 2018 open. Sr Dr Venissa AC vice principal, Geanette D Souza, Agnesian alumni vice president, Blossom Rego, PTA vice president, Emima David, dean Science, Janet Pinto, Ladlyn- representing the alumni, parents, faculty members, support staff and students body respectively were present.

The festivities began in full swing. The Fiesta comprised of lots of enjoyable games, multiple rounds of housie and food stalls selling tasty delicacies.

The garage sale was a big success. Thanks to the amazing items contributed by the alumni.

There was also a flea market which had exhibitors from across Mangaluru showcasing western clothing, Indian wear, home accessories, paintings and many more goodies.

There was a Centenary stall showcasing memorabilia like t-shirts, caps, wristbands, badges and mugs, all of which will be available for the next two years leading up to the centenary.

Visitors were kept entertained as the students put up amazing music and dance performances. Dr Malini Hebbar and Blossom Rego along with the help of students compered the programme.

The attraction of the day was a grand raffle draw with a prize of Rs 50,000 and the second and third prize of Rs 25,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively. There were also 10 consolation prizes, all announced during the valedictory.
