The year 2020 marked the beginning of the centenary year for St. Agnes college and it commenced with the Centenary Celebrations and the Inaugural of the mother Mary Aloysia Centenary Memorial Block, at 9.30 a.m on the Friday 3 January 2020, followed by and a thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration. The building was inaugurated by by Rev. Sr M. Susheela & Rev. Sr M. Shamitha (Superior General & Provincial Superior of the AC Congregation) in the presence of the Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha (Bishop of Mangalore), Most Rev. Dr Aloysius Paul D’souza, Moost Rev. Dr. Gerald Issac Lobo and Rev. Fr Dt Jerome Stanislaus D’Souza S.J. The builders and architects were fecilictated on stage by the Principals of the institution with much gratitude.

The evening of the day witnessed a meaningful programme where the benefactors and donors were honoured in the presence of eminent personalities who were present from far and near. The guests of honour , included Sri U T Khader, Sri Ivan D’souza; Sri J R Lobo; Ms Sindhu B Rupesh IAS; Dr P. S. Harsha IPS; Sri Anirudh Shravan, IAS (Commissioner, Collegiate Education) Mr. Michael D’Souza, MD, Ivory Grand Real Estate, UAE; Dr Brian Pinto, Former Senior Adviser, The World Bank Consultant-African Development Bank; Mrs Shabana & Mr Faizal, Chairpersons, KEF Holdings; Mr Leslie J Fernandes, Ex Chairman, Dockendale Shipping Co Ltd. Australia and Mr. Ronald Pinto, MD HYSSNA International, UAE. Rev. Sr. M. Susheela A.C in her address summed up the vision of the institution and offered her best wishes to all the stakeholders of the college. Ms Meera Rao (Director, Rambus Inc., USA) was the Chief Guest and in her address she recollected some of her fond memories of her student days and proudly claimed that the college is the firmament having a formative influence on the life of students allowing them to grow and succeed in life. Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Professor P S Yadapadithaya said that St Agnes College is famed for its quality of education and stands out among other institutions. The alumnae of this college have reached great heights. Among the other prominent speakers were MLA U.T. Khader.

A meaningful and enthralling cultural programme followed where the glorious history of a hundred years was depicted through a dance performance.

The five major events that are going to be conducted as part of the centenary celebrations were also highlighted as follows :

The Knowledge Factory will generate and spread worthwhile ideas by inviting eminent speakers to speak on various topics, enhancing awareness and understanding.

The Trade Fair will encourage and empower women entrepreneurs by offering them a platform to exhibit their ingenuity and to network with their counterparts from different fields.

The Institution’s Social Responsibility Project will comprise hands-on experience, skill building and awareness programmes in the five adopted villages: Kuttar, Amblamogaru, Munnur, Harekala, Hosabettu.

A National Level Sports Event for students from women’s universities will be held in order to give a special thrust to the concept of physical well being.

Agnotsav will bring together 100 women achievers from ten different walks of life who will be honoured by the college.

The Programme concluded at 8.00 p.m with the vote of thanks proposed by an illustrious alumuna Dr. Meera Aranha.
