The concept of “Wealth out of waste” was reflected through bottle gardening by the students of MSc chemistry as a part of Chemaura Activity. This concept has gained popularity as a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to repurpose everyday materials.
Initially the discarded plastic bottles of various sizes were cut horizontally leaving the bottom intact. Then two small holes were created in order to tie the hanging rope. Then the bottles were painted in a creative manner and filled with fertile soil and planted small plants. The plants were then watered and then kept hanging on the terrace.
All the students of MSc chemistry played an active role in organising this activity. Together it was a joyful moment for taking a step ahead in promoting sustainable practices and environmental conservation while also providing numerous benefits for individuals and communities.
The primary objective was to demonstrate how discarded plastic bottles can be repurposed to create a sustainable and environmentally friendly bottle garden. It also aimed to raise awareness about recycling, reduce plastic waste and promote green living.
All together it was an innovative approach that can contribute to a greener and more prosperous future.
