On 9 October 2023, the Department of Economics, St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru conducted Agora de Agnes, a fun filled market experience for the Economics students of St Agnes College. Agora de Agnes stands for market of Agnes. It was conducted under the guidance of Mrs Manjushree Shetty, Head, Department of Economics and Mrs Mahitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. Students had put up various stalls selling a variety of items ranging from snacks to handicrafts along with exciting games. The food stalls ranged from home baked cakes to spicy pani puris and refreshing mojitos.
Sr Dr M Venissa A.C., Principal of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru inaugurated the market and wished the students success in their endeavour. The event saw active participation of Agnesians who showed their support by visiting all the stalls. Students and teachers from various streams bought snacks and enjoyed the games hosted by the Department of Economics. Agora de Agnes was successful in providing students with entrepreneurial and business-like experience. All the students studying Economics participated with enthusiasm and with their awe-inspiring ideas made this event a great success.
