The college choir invoked God’s blessings through a prayer song followed by a dance to introduce the theme of the Agnofest – IMPERIA 2022. Dr R. Nagesh, the staff Co-ordinator of Imperia 2022 welcomed the audience. Mr Nihal Tauro who is a proclaimed environmentalist was welcomed by the Principal with a pot of flowers. The Student President Rhea Sequeira gave the audience an overview of the events for Imperia 2022. While the lighting of the lamp marked the opening of the fest, the grand unveiling of the trophies of Imperia 2022 was a rare wonderment in itself and marked the symbolic inaugural of the fest Imperia 2022. Dr Ita DSouza, Head Department of Chemistry, introduced the Indian Idol Finalist sensational music artist, singer and songwriter Mr. Nihal Tauro. The chief guest was felicitated by all the guests on the dais.
In his address, the chief guest inspired the audience with his motivational words highlighting the potential hidden in the students. He asked them to come out of their fear zone and added to the magnificence of the inaugural with his melodious singing. Sr Dr Lydia A.C. invited the students to become leaders. She welcomed the participants to Imperia 2022 and wished them a day of. Ms Prajwal, staff incharge for Science proposed the vote of thanks at the inaugural ceremony.
After a day of fruitful completion, the valedictory ceremony commenced at 5.00 p.m. Ms Satsya Tharein, a well known web content developer was the chief guest. She recounted her student days and reminisenced that she was the member of the winning team of Agnofest in her time. She said that events like these give students important life lessons and have particularly helped her shape her career. In her address to the audience, the Vice Principal Sr Clara A.C. was particularly appreciative of the efforts put in by the students of St Agnes College and the participants. She congratulated all the winners.
The chief guest along along with the Principal Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C. distributed the prizes at the awards ceremony. Canara College, Mangaluru, bagged the overall championship and The Welcome Group, Graduate School of Hotel Administration, Manipal, were the runners up.
Mrs. Sheryl Preethika, Asst. Prof. Dept. Of Commerce proposed the vote of thanks. The grand finale to the day was the Battle of Bands which had the campus resounding with music in the evening and the winners of the exclusive musical contest and were rewarded by the Principal Sr Dr M. Venissa A.C. with a cash prize.
