Around 2,000 students as well as faculty members of St. Agnes Institutions participated in the silent march, which began at the main gate of the institutions. The procession moved through Mallikatte Circle, Mallikatte Market, and Shivbagh Main Junction before returning to the institution. All the participants, including students and staff, gathered at the open-air stage where they observed a one-minute silence and paid their tribute to the doctor.
Ms. Shobha Jacintha D’Souza, a member of the Woman and Child Welfare Committee, addressed the gathering. She sensitised the participants to use the power to think and realise and make the right choices to bring in that change in the society. She urged them to practice ethical and moral values and accept ourselves, be pure in our thoughts and respect each other with dignity.
A street play was performed by NSS students, focusing on the issue of sexual harassment against women. The Kadri Police Station team, including PI Mr. Somashekar and SP Mr. Umesh, provided essential support to manage traffic and maintain order during the silent hour.
