“Great achievement is usually born of great sacrifice” says, Napoleon Hill.St Agnes College has proved to be so over the past years and gratefully on Thursday 2 July 2020 celebrated the 100th Foundation Day. It was a unique way of commemorating the occasion as the 40 minutes programme was premiered in the College’s YouTube channel at 4:00 pm. The entire function was compered by Mrs Sarah Crasta who also at the end proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the College. The programme began with a prayer song by Ms Rishel and Ms Belisha. Sr Dr M. Venissa A. C, the Principal of the College welcomed and introduced Sr Dr Lydia A.C, the Superior and Joint Secretary of St Agnes Institutions who spoke on the Zeal and Dedication of Mother Aloysia A.C – the Founder of St Agnes College. She highlighted Mother Aloysia’s farsighted vision and courage through which she kept the torch of higher education burning bright. A floral tribute was then offered to Mother Aloysia by Sr Dr Lydia A.C, Sr Dr Venissa A.C, Sr Carmel Rita A.C and Sr Roopa Rodrigues A.C.
Sr Dr Vinora A.C introduced Ms Aroona B Bhat – TEDx speaker, Image Consultant and Film Producer, presently residing in Mumbai. She, an Ex-Agnesian, spoke proudly on her cherished memories at St Agnes College. She was profusely grateful to this noble Institution and also acknowledged the role of the Apostolic Carmel sisters and the then Professors who have made a positive difference in her life.
The programme ended by singing the College Anthem – “GOD IS OUR STRENGTH.”
